Dr. Townsend is a board certified obstetrician and gynecologist, a practicing obstetric hospitalist and Vice President and clinical transformational officer for a large hospital system in Memphis, TN. His career reflects his consistent embrace of innovations that close the gaps between patients and care partners. Dr. Townsend spent the first 10 years of his career providing care and education to patients in his family’s obgyn practice.

Brittney Matthews Baird, MSN, RNC-OB/C-EFM

Brittney is a registered nurse certified in inpatient obstetrics and electronic fetal monitoring with nearly 30 years of experience in maternal and neonatal care and education. Since 2008, she has worked as a women’s health specialist for a level III maternity center in a hospital in Memphis, TN. Given her passion for maternal and neonatal wellness, Brittney maintains a number of certifications including being an instructor for American Heart Association basic and advanced life support and a provider for American Academy of Pediatrics Neonatal Resuscitation Program.

Idesha is a freelance editor and writer whose love of the written word changed her focus early on from the sciences to writing and she has never looked back. She graduated with honors from Fisk University with a degree in English. As luck would have it, Idesha still found herself in the medical field, but in a hands-off capacity. Previously, Idesha worked as a director of engagement which allowed her to connect her loves of telling a good story and helping people.
